MENTOR HUEBNER ACADEMICIAN

Mentor was an Academician. He was an expert. He had a Lifetime Teaching Credential and taught Fine Art and Film Production Art at public and private art schools. He was asked to teach Composition, Life drawing, Painting and Production Illustration for Film and Television. His teaching career spanned 25 years.

Wherever we traveled, throughout the States and Europe, it was not uncommon for someone to come up to Mentor and say, " Mr. Huebner, I took your class. You were inspirational. I owe my entire career to you."

We met his students everywhere; at the Bonx Zoo, the White House, and the Louvre in Paris. Whenever there was a crowd someone knew Mentor. His students ranged in age from 17 to 70. Sometimes the class head count hit 90.

His strong style in drawing and teaching made him a popular instructor. He attracted all types. Some were pretty tough and demanding as often his students were other professional artists and designers. He was invited to lecture and to give Seminars -- "quickies", but he preferred the academic environment and always gravitated toward art schools. He accepted teaching assignments that lured him to other locations but he always continued to teach at his old Alma Mater.
