Mentor
Huebner ~ lived a 48 hour day, traveled nationally and internationally
for work and fun, and to tell his life from A to Z would require
multiple volumes ~ since Zanuck told of D-day in little over an
hour ~ these singular facts may tell something of Mentor in just
a few hundred words ~ so grab a cup of coffee and start and stop
wherever you like: It's a portrait of an artist.
Mentor born July 19, 1917. Astrologically he was a Cancer sign
with the Sun in his chart sitting on the cusp straddling two signs
~ Cancer and Leo.
The
Moon in his chart was coincidentally doing the same thing as the
Sun. On a flat diagram they would appear to be practically one
on top of the other. The Moon is also half way between the Cancer
and Leo Sun signs.
These
two signs are known to be represented by the two powerful Luminaries,
the Sun and the Moon. And so it's no wonder "Light"
was important to him and he played around with it all his life.
His
Post Impressionist Paintings and his Film Production Conceptual
Drawings all showed how much Light affected his thinking and his
art work.
The
hour he was born added a bit of spice to the destined array. As
Gemini, a sign of Duality, was rising on the Eastern Horizon of
his chart, and caused the planets Mars, Jupiter and Pluto to activate
his ego through their 'first house' placement, while the rest
of the planets ~ Neptune, Saturn, Mercury and Venus all in Leo
supported his Moon from the 'third house' (mentality) giving him
over the top creativity with an over abundance of drive and a
capacity to 'see' everything around him ~ quickly ~ and to remember.
He
was very intense. The entire array was triggered repeatedly by
the planet Uranus. It all ganged up on him and caused restlessness,
multiple jobs, multiple marriages, multiple children (twins),
vibes, magnetism, an interesting life, travel, work in the movies,
notoriety, and a sort of a temper.
In
a rhythmic pattern that undulated between upheavals and a solid
conservative home life he was always entertaining, extroverted,
compassionate, witty, loyal, generous and courageous.
When
the planet Uranus made it's first swing around his horoscope bringing
a once-in-a-lifetime happening, Mentor died.
However,
his Spirit did not.

Mentor
was a track star in High School.
He
won medals. His record wasn't broken for 17 years.
One
year his High School (Eagle Rock High School) and Hollywood High
were in a competitive track meet with multiple other schools.
He beat Alan Ladd, the Hollywood High champion.
At
the end of the race there was an uproar in the stands and a bevy
of beauties raced down to the field. At first Mentor thought they
were headed toward him.
But
they weren't.
Instead
the young girls hurried toward Alan Ladd, circled around
him and squealing and hugging and kissing him. As yet Ladd
was not a famous movie star of any classic films. (Shane)
He was just a sort of blondish, short guy wtih good legs.
Mentor
learned a huge lesson that day.
Winning
isn't everything! |

*(At
the time of that 'track meet' Ladd was a senior in High school
and Mentor was a Freshman. Hence the popularity Ladd had with
the ladies.
A lack that Mentor soon overcame by winning medals in track.)
